An area rich in history and culture, Bethlehem offers quaint shops, as well museums and historical landmarks. Here is a guide to some of the highlights of the region.
• Pierce a body part at Outrageous on Fourth, right near Goosey Gander.
• Experience the Crayola Factory in downtown Easton, where you can watch crayons being made.

• Get your hair cut at one of the local barbers who still operate shops with an old-time feel within a mile or so of campus. Check out Clyde’s at 109 W. Fourth St., Derrico’s at 21 E. Fourth St., or Phil’s, at 520 Broadway.
• Fly a kite on Goodman Campus. Pick out a colorful, high-tech version at Burlesque Kites at 16-18 W. Third St.
• Take advantage of First Fridays on South Side Bethlehem, where most of the stores, shops and restaurants offer special activities to celebrate the first Friday of every month.

• Take in an event or exhibit at the Banana Factory, located in the former warehouse of the Theodoredis Banana Co.
• Treat yourself to a manicure or pedicure at Sensations by Sonia, a full-service salon at 530 E. Fourth St.

• Visit the Steel Garden in downtown Bethlehem’s Brew Works.
• Visit Bethlehem’s Rose Garden on Broad Street, which is in full bloom around June, but is lovely in any season.
