Chaplain's Office
The University Chaplain provides a ministry of service and hospitality to the religiously diverse community at Lehigh University. Chemical Engineering
Chemical Engineering is one of the oldest programs at Lehigh University, making its first appearance in the late nineteenth century, when the Department of Chemistry began to offer a degree in Industrial Chemistry (1895 - 1907). In 1907, the University granted its first bachelor’s degrees in Chemical Engineering.

Community Service
The Lehigh University Community Service Office was established in the fall of 1996 to provide a coordinated effort for students, faculty and staff to engage in service to the greater Lehigh Valley area. Currently the office has contact with over 100 local agencies that are always looking for volunteers. In addition to our contact with these agencies, we run major programs such as SERVE Trips, the service break programs; Volunteer Experience, the new student pre-orientation program and America Reads and Counts, a tutoring program for local elementary and middle school children.

The Counseling Service (UCPS) is dedicated to the belief that a person's college years are optimally a time of challenge, inquiry, experimentation, productivity, and change. Emulsion Polymers Institute
The Emulsion Polymers Institute was formed at Lehigh University in 1975 to carry out interdisciplinary research designed to gain fundamental information on, and understanding of, the preparation, characterization, properties, and applications of latexes. A latex is defined as a colloidal dispersion of submicroscopic polymer particles in a continuous medium, sometimes being referred to as emulsion polymers or polymer colloids.

E. W. Fairchild-Martindale Library
The E. W. Fairchild-Martindale Library, opened in 1985, houses books, journals, newspapers, audio-visual resources, and microform collections in all branches of science, engineering, mathematics, and the social sciences, including business and education. Recent renovations, wireless capability and new computer equipment have transformed the first floor of Fairchild-Martindale Library into an "Information Commons" suitable for the team-oriented integrated learning styles of the 21st century.

Finance
The Perella Department of Finance, the only named department within Lehigh University, offers courses that lead to undergraduate and graduate degrees. First-Year Housing
All first-year (and second-year) students reside in university housing facilities. Most rooms are doubles with a limited number of singles and triples. Apartment-style and suite-style living is also available. Each residence hall room has a digital telephone system, voice mail, high-speed networking with continuous upgrades to capacity and a high-speed connection to the Internet. All residence halls are located close to classrooms, the dining halls, the fitness center/gymnasium and the libraries, so it’s a quick walk to almost anywhere on campus.

Fraternities and Sororities
Lehigh offers a unique Greek system centered on scholarship, leadership, and service. There are 20 fraternities including one non-residential and 8 sororities, of which 35 percent of the men and 38 percent of the women affiliate, respectively. Most of Lehigh’s fraternities and sororities provide housing opportunities, as well as dining and recreation facilities.

Global Experience

Graduate Housing
Graduate students often live in the University’s Saucon Village Apartment complex, located on the Goodman Campus, approximately three miles from the Asa Packer Campus. The apartments are composed of 15 buildings, ten with two-story wings and five with three-story wings for a total of 136 units. The apartments are unfurnished but are provided with a telephone, cable TV, range, and refrigerator. Coin-operated laundry facilities are centrally located in each building. A community room and computer/game room are available for residents' use.

Graduate Life
The Graduate Life Office is a department in Student Affairs. Its mission is to make Lehigh a hospitable place that is engaging, inspiring, and supportive to graduate students. The University also maintains a Graduate Student Center. Its resources include free photocopying, lowest priced fax on campus ($.75 per page), computer cluster with three computers including DVD players, CD burners, and a scanner, a small refrigerator, resource materials, snacks, event signup and discount tickets to Zoellner Arts Center performances and a campus phone.

The Graduate Student Center, housed in Christmas-Saucon Hall, is the home of the Office of Graduate Student Life and the Graduate Student Council. Gryphon Society
Gryphons are named after the ancient mythological beast of Scythia that was known to protect the area's gold. At Lehigh, the students, freshmen in particular, are considered to be the school's "gold." The Gryphon Society was founded in 1957 as a group of students dedicated to helping freshmen make a positive adjustment to campus life. Because of the active role they take in their residents' lives, Gryphons are Lehigh's "Keepers of the Gold."

Hawk's Nest
The Hawk's Nest is a restaurant located inside the Lamberton Hall student center developed by Lehigh University. The Hawk's Nest is the hot spot on campus for food and fun late into the evening. Everything on our menu is Made-To-Order.

Health and Wellness Center
The Lehigh University Health and Wellness Center provides acute and on-going care to all students. The Wellness Center consists of the Self Treatment Room where students can treat themselves for minor injuries or illnesses. The Resource Room provides a cheery atmosphere for students to further their knowledge on health related topics. The Nanocharacterization Laboratory, housed in Whitaker Lab, contains the largest collection of electron microscopes of any university in the U.S. , with a suite of 13 scanning, transmission and scanning / transmission instruments and focused ion beam instruments. Safety
Maintaining a secure environment is very important to the entire Lehigh community. A variety of security measures are implemented throughout campus, including a 24-hour locked door policy with access cards for entry into residence halls, a cell phone messaging alert system, emergency phones throughout campus, well-lit walkways, and a safety escort service. The university police provide coverage 24 hours per day, 365 days per year.
