If you are interested in financial aid, you must submit a College Scholarship Service (CSS)/Financial Aid PROFILE application. The CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE is an exclusive online service. Students should register at www.collegeboard.com and follow the instructions for filing. A fee of $25 is charged for the first school and $16 for each additional school. (Fees will be waived for families with low incomes. A waiver is issued during the registration process.) Several payment options are available: credit card, debit card or online check. Applications should be completed no later than February 1 to be considered on time. The CSS code for Lehigh University is 002365. Students who successfully submit their application can access their CSS/ PROFILE acknowledgement on the Web site. Carefully review any message codes from your schools to ensure that you have completed all application requirements. Please consult the table below for appropriate times to file the CSS/PROFILE.

Additional forms such as the Business/Farm Supplement or the Noncustodial Parent’s Statement are required, in addition to complete, signed copies of parent and students 2007 IRS 1040 forms, schedules, and W-2 statements.

In addition to the CSS/PROFILE, you will also be required to the file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to qualify for federal and state-funded student aid. This form may be accessed online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Lehigh’s code for FAFSA is 003289.  Please consult the table below for appropriate times to file the FAFSA.

If you will be attending Lehigh, you will need to send signed, completed copies of both you and your parents’ 2007 IRS 1040 forms, with all W-2s, by February 15, 2008.

Applicants wishing to be considered for financial aid should file by the deadline noted in the chart below. Do not wait until you are offered admission.

Reapplying in subsequent years:
The reapplication process for returning students is on a different calendar, since there is no May 1 first-year candidate's reply date to be concerned about. April 15 is the refiling date, which is more closely aligned to the filing of federal tax returns. Lehigh requires filing the renewal editions of the same two forms: the CSS Financial Aid PROFILE - Renewal Application; and the Renewal FAFSA, in addition to a Lehigh application and copies of Federal Tax returns (IRS 1040) for 2007. A packet containing all requisite forms will be available for pickup in the Office of Financial Aid, prior to winter break.

Satisfactory Progress:
Determining the satisfactory progress of a student for continuing eligibility of financial aid requires a review of grade point average as it relates to the graduation requirement; and progress in courses passed based on curriculum requirements. Students must take at least 24 new credits per year (12 credits per semester) and must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0 each semester and academic year.
