   So you think your resume and cover letter are good enough and you start applying for jobs. Before you know it, months have gone by and you haven't gotten a single hit, not one interview. It's time to re-evaluate your communications tools and put your best job-seeking foot forward.
   In this session, you will learn:

Networking: Less Scary Than You Think

   Bottom line: employers prefer to hire people they know or people who have been referred to them over complete strangers who could be a hiring risk. That's why networking accounts for how 75% of people find jobs. Scared? Don't be!
   This workshop will provide you with specific steps on:

  • How to identify your network.
  • How to develop a marketing plan — a key tool you'll need to network comfortably and effectively.
  • How to structure a networking meeting.

   Confidence in interviewing is everything. Proper preparation is key to increasing your confidence. Whether you are pursuing graduate school, a new position, a promotion, or your first position, the ability to market yourself confidently is an essential piece of your job search.
   In this session, you will:

  • Learn the 10 steps to prepare for a behavioral interview. (80% of companies use this type of interviewing!)
  • Learn the S.T.A.R. technique to help you successfully answer behavioral questions.
  • Develop thoughtful questions to ask on your interview.
  • Learn tips on how to navigate the site visit.
