Goes to the Library

The Rosenbach Museum & Library
2008-2010 Delancey St.

Sunday, Oct. 19, 2008
1 to 4 p.m.
$30 per person.

The students are back at Lehigh, and Linderman Library is packed. Remember those days? We've got a fun, educational outing that may help bring them back for you! The Lehigh Club of Philadelphia has discovered a hidden gem, and they want to share it with you.

Join us for a wine-and-cheese party and a house/library tour, at the Rosenbach Museum & Library, winner of a Best of Philly Award in 2007. Not only is the library's collection unique, eclectic, and impressive, but so is its history. In addition, the Rosenbach is home to an extensive collection of the artwork, memorabilia, and personal collections of children's book author/illustrator Maurice Sendak.

The current Sendak exhibition, "There's a Mystery There," is described by the Philadelphia Inquirer as a "splendidly evocative exhibition" that is created in a way that appeals to both children and adults. The exhibition will later travel to three other museums.

In keeping with our library theme, we are fortunate that Tony Corallo, Vice President of Facilities at Lehigh, will join us. Tony will speak to the Club about the recent Linderman Library renovations, which marry the best of the old and the new.

And finally, you also will have a chance to take a walk on Delancey Street (close to Rittenhouse Square), one of the most beautiful and charming streets in Philadelphia.

Register online.

Reservations are limited to 40 guests — first come, first served.
