In Memory of Jessica Coleman '90

Jessica's Race Against the Sun is named after Jessica Coleman '90, daughter of Judge Edward N. Cahn '55.  Jessica passed away in September 2007 from melanoma. The race's mission is to increase awareness, prevention and early detection of melanoma. In January 2008, the Lehigh Home Club named Jessica's Race Against the Sun its official community service project.

"Light the Night" Walk

In Memory of Jared Hess '00

Philadelphia, Pa.

Ali Schumacher, sister of Lehigh alumnus Jared Hess '00, has organized a walk in her brother's memory for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Light the Night. Festivities begin at 4:30 p.m. at FDR Park in South Philadelphia, where team members will gather for a picnic, followed by the walk at 6:30 p.m.  Funds raised from the walk are directed toward research, patient & family support, and advocacy. Any money raised will help cancer patients like Jared in the future.  The most important goal is simply to bring Jared's community together every year or every two years to celebrate his life and share memories about him with his sons, Caleb and Noah, as they grow up.
