"Lehigh was perfect for me. I was a bit of an introvert when I first arrived at Lehigh. The relatively small size of the student population allowed me to feel comfortable, so I constantly volunteered to be on task forces and got involved in activities that helped my self-confidence tremendously."
- Judy F. Marks '84

The Alumni Admissions Outreach (AAO) and Parent Admissions Outreach (PAO) programs are fantastic ways for Lehigh alumni and Lehigh parents to stay involved with the present-day university. If you are not already a member of the AAO or PAO, now is the time to come on board! You will join a dedicated assembly of over 800 Lehigh admissions volunteers, who are trained to assist the university and the Office of Admissions by recruiting the finest students across the country and throughout the world. By sharing your collegiate and parental experiences and professional successes with prospective students, you will illustrate the benefits of the Lehigh experience.
As an Alumni/Parent Admissions Outreach volunteer you will have the opportunity to refer students to Lehigh University through our referral process, represent Lehigh at college fairs in your area, conduct alumni interviews, attend admissions evening information programs in your area, congratulate accepted students or make parent-to-parent calls, attend accepted student events, and attend freshmen sendoffs.
Your involvement, no matter how great or small, will have a tremendous impact on the lives of our prospective students .... You may be the reason a student chooses Lehigh!
For questions regarding the Alumni Admissions Outreach Program, please contact Barrett Frankel '02 at lehighaao@lehigh.edu or (610) 758 - 5062.
Alumni Interviews On November 6th, the alumni interview request process went live, which enabled students who have submitted their application to Lehigh to request an alumni interview in their area. From now until the beginning of February, I will be matching prospective student applicants with AAOs in their area for alumni interviews, so you may be hearing from me. If you have interviewed a prospective student and would like to submit a summary for the interview, Click Here
Alumni Recommendations DEADLINE TO SUBMIT RECOMMENDATIONS IS January 15, 2010. **NOTE that you do NOT have to be an AAO Volunteer in order to submit a recommendation.
In the application review process, there are many factors taken into consideration. Alumni recommendations, as is true with counselor and teacher recommendations, have the greatest impact when the admissions staff is choosing between one admissible candidate and another. If you would like to recommend a prospective student who will be submitting an application this Fall, please do one of the following:
1. Click HERE for an online submission form. 2. Write a free form letter of recommendation including the following information, and touching upon the following points (a-h below): Your Full Name Your Mailing Address Your Class Affiliation Prospective Student's Full Name Prospective Student's High School a) Explain the nature of your relationship to the student. Comments on character evaluation, personal stories and specific interaction accounts are most helpful and meaningful to the admissions committee. The best comments are those with intangibles.
