High value is placed on employees who bring a broad background to their positions. Recognizing this fact, we designed the MS in Accounting & Information Analysis Program to accommodate those students who do not have undergraduate accounting business degrees.

Students who did not major in accounting but have an undergraduate business degree are required to take four additional upper-level accounting courses courses prior to beginning the graduate MSAIA course work.  The courses are: Financial Accounting I and II (two semesters of intermediate financial accounting), Accounting Information Systems, and Fundamentals of Auditing. We expect Financial Accounting I and II to be available for students during the first and second summer sessions, respectively, and from time to time, Accounting Information Systems, and Auditing may be offered in the summer.  If not offered at Lehigh, it is the applicant's responsibility to enroll in the systems and auditing courses at another institution, subject to approval by the Lehigh MSAIA Director.  Another option is for applicants to enter Lehigh in the spring term prior to starting the MSAIA program in the fall to complete Financial Accounting I, Accounting Information Systems and Fundamentals of Auditing, and then completing Financial Accounting II during the second summer session.

In addition to these four upper-division accounting courses, students without a business background are required to take the following courses prior to any 400 level coursework:
