
MS in Health and BioPharmaceutical Economics
Government agencies, health insurers, health care providers, managed care organizations biotechnology firms and pharmaceutical manufacturers have become increasingly interested in the cost effectiveness of new drugs, therapies, diagnostic procedures and medical equipment. The MS in Health and BioPharmaceutical Economics prepares students to carry out sophisticated cost effectiveness and cost-benefit analyses for organizations like these within the health care sector.
This one year 30 credit hour program offers individuals with a strong science, premed or bio-engineering background the skills needed for pharmaco-economic studies, strategic marketing research and financial analysis in health-related industries.
The core curriculum focuses on both economic analysis and health care sector analysis. Electives may include business and economics courses, seminar style courses taught by industry executives, and independent study.
