BUS 125-Behavioral Skills Workshop (1 cr.hr. FALL)
• Focus: effective decision making
• Topics: group and team decision making, conflict resolution and negotiation, ethical decision making, creative problem solving
• Offered as an intensive, 2-day workshop at the beginning of each fall semester
 
BUS 126-Information Analysis and Financial Decision Making I
(3cr.hr. FALL) Co-req: BUS 125

BUS 127-Information Analysis and Financial Decision Making II (3 cr.hr. SPRING) Pre-req: BUS 126
• BUS 126 and BUS 127 is a 6 credit hour sequence offered over 2 semesters that will focus on: operating, investing, and financing decisions that managers make in any organization
• Emphasis: accounting, corporate reporting, financial statement analysis, corporate finance, capital evaluation, investments
• Outcomes: students learn importance of accounting and finance within the larger economic context; the language of finance and accounting, effective communications with finance and accounting professionals

SECOND YEAR COURSES

BUS 225-Developing, Producing, and Marketing Products and Services I (3 cr.hr. FALL) Pre-req: BUS 127

BUS 226-Developing, Producing, and Marketing Products and Services II (3 cr.hr. SPRING)
Pre-req: BUS 225
• BUS 225 and BUS 226 is a 6 credit hour sequence offered over 2 semesters that will focus on: identifying customers and their requirements; developing products and services to satisfy customer requirements; producing products and services at the right quality and cost; communicating product value to customers; pricing products and services to be competitive and profitable; delivering products and services at the right place and time; pursuing continuous improvement.
• Outcomes: students learn the terminology, concepts and practical applications as related to product development, operations and marketing; the range of decisions made in product development, operations and marketing and the inter-relationships between these decisions.; decision-making process and research tools, processes, and information technology necessary to ensure optimal decisions are made in each organizational activity embedded within the organization’s value chain

BUS 326-Business Strategy (1cr.hr. SPRING) Co-req: BUS 226
• A 2-day, intensive workshop focused on a business simulation. Students develop corporate strategy and make decisions that impact performance metrics. Students learn how decisions made by units of the firm affect the overall performance of the firm and the attainment of its corporate strategy.
