"You get an interesting perspective from actually being there—from feeling the ground under you shake or seeing smoke on the horizon, or talking with Iraqis while walking the streets. It's a little different than what you read in the headlines or see on the nightly news."
- Colonel Frank Gunter
Associate Professor of Economics, USMC Reserves
The activities of the College of Business and Economics are supported and monitored by its Board of Advisors (BOA). This Board, a select group of successful alumni and friends of the college, was organized in 1990. A primary function of the BOA is to provide advice and support to the Dean in his efforts to attain the highest level of quality in undergraduate and graduate education. This distinguished body meets in plenary session twice a year, either in New York City or at Lehigh. It is organized into various standing committees that reflect the needs of the College. These committees address areas such as CBE academic programs, diversity, young alumni, marketing, finance and membership.
The chair of the Board of Advisors is Bob Brown '78, a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Mr Brown is the Board's fifth chair, following Fred Fraenkel '71 (2000-2004), Paul N. Leitner '76 (1996-2000), Frank Speigel '57 (1995) and Joseph Welch '60 (1990-1994).
Board members have a business focus with broad representation from diverse organizations and working backgrounds. The current Board of Advisors consists of a cross-section of Lehigh graduates who are in various phases of their business careers.
