The Financial Crisis

A panel of three highly regarded financial experts visited Lehigh University to discuss distressed securities and the changing economic environment. Among the issues they addressed were the Obama Administration's proposed financial policies and its economic bailout plans, employment prospects for graduating seniors, and the need to change the corporate culture on Wall Street into one of responsibility.

Introduction Paul Brown, dean of Lehigh's College of Business and Economics, introduces the panelists. "These are painful times, but these are also historic times," he says, explaining that Lehigh is committed to fostering thought-provoking discussion about the economic downturn within the community.

Discussion Part 3 "Everyone feels as if they've been impaired," says Brad Scheler '74. "If we can start to reverse that, then everybody benefits." The panelists argue that America can be positioned for a "better future," but that it may takes 20 years before we see significant changes.
