I joined the Perella Department of Finance at Lehigh University in 2003. I received my Bachelors degree from the United States Military Academy in 1987, an MBA from the University of Tulsa in 1998, and my doctorate from the University of Arizona in 2003. My teaching and research interests include corporate finance, corporate governance, corporate restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, socially responsible investing, and valuation. I have had articles published in the Journal of Financial Research, Financial Management, and the Journal of Fixed Income. In 2005 I received the Lehigh Junior Award for Distinguished Teaching. In 2004, I was named the Theodore A. Lauer Professor of Finance. In 2001 and 2003, I was awarded research grants from the New York Stock Exchange. My work experience includes 4 ½ years as an officer in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and 4 ½ years as a Plant Engineer for Lanier Clothes.
