Erin Moore is an Assistant Professor of Accounting in the College of Business and Economics. She earned her Ph.D. at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in September 2005. Erin received a B.S. in Accounting at Fairfield University in 1995 and an M.B.A. from Fairfield University in 2001. Erin worked as a supervisory senior auditor at Arthur Andersen from 1995-1999. She is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Connecticut (inactive status).

Erin’s research interests are in the area of financial accounting. Specifically, her work examines issues related to financial statement restatements and earnings management. Her dissertation examines pension accounting as an earnings management tool, and the valuation implications of managers’ discretionary pension accounting choices. Erin’s teaching interests are in the area of financial accounting as well. She teaches both the Introduction to Financial Accounting (ACCT 151) and the Financial Accounting I (ACCT 315) courses.
