Marietta Peytcheva joined Lehigh in August 2008.  She worked as an auditor for PricewaterhouseCoopers from 1998 – 2000. She is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of New Jersey.

Professor Peytcheva's primary research interests are in the area of audit judgment and decision making, financial restatements, and ethics in accounting. Her dissertation work studied how situational pressures common in the audit environment influence the judgment and decisions of individual auditors. It focused on the impact of responsibility for previous work and time pressure on quality-threatening audit behavior; it also examined how awareness of partners’ views affects auditors’ professional judgment. Professor Peytcheva teaches the Introduction to Financial Accounting (ACCT 151) course.
