William Sanjian Zhang joined Lehigh in August, 2006. Currently, he is an Assistant Professor of Accounting in the College of Business and Economics. He got his Ph.D. at the University of California, Irvine in July 2006. Bill received a B.S. in Economics at Shanghai International Studies University in 1997. After graduation, he worked as an auditor at Pricewaterhouse Coopers from 1997-1998 and specialized in the oil and gas industry. Bill got his MBA from Catholic University of Leuven (KUL) in Belgium in 2000.

Bill's research interests are in the area of financial accounting. His work examines the use of accounting information in the bond market. His dissertation explores the impact of accounting restatements on bond valuations and the cost of debt capital. He will teach auditing in the College of Business and Economics.
