"Picking up on the engineering tie, we have programs where students are put in a situation where they are obligated to be thinking about cross-college, cross-disciplinary studies."

LEHIGH UNIVERSITY
The Collins-Goodman Fellowship
Real Estate Finance
Assistant/Associate
The Perella Department of Finance is now accepting applications for the tenure track Collins-Goodman Fellowship in Real Estate Finance at the Assistant or Associate Rank. We seek well-trained scholars/teachers with strong research skills to join our existing faculty in the Fall of 2010. This individual must show the potential for publishing in major refereed finance journals. Distinction between the rank of assistant and associate professor will depend on the fullness of the research and teaching record, including evidence of a portfolio of research in progress. Experience in the field of real estate finance is highly desirable.
This new Fellowship complements recent initiatives within the department and the college, which include (a) the successful introduction of ire@l (integrated real estate at Lehigh), a campus wide real estate minor, in the Fall of 2007, (b) the hiring of 3 assistant finance professors (2 which started in the Fall 2008 and the third which will start in the Fall 2009), (c) the hiring of Paul Brockman as the Joseph R. Perella and Amy M. Perella Chair in Finance, (d) the naming of the Finance Department with a $10 million endowment from Joseph R. and Amy M. Perella in 2004, (e) the placement of key administrators (President Alice P. Gast in the Fall of 2006, Dean Paul Brown in the Summer of 2007 and Provost Patrick Farrell in the Summer of 2009) within the university committed to fostering an environment in which the department can excel, (f) the launch of our Financial Services Lab in the Fall of 2004 which allows for new initiatives for both the classroom and research endeavors, and (g) the introduction of the M.S in Analytical Finance in the Fall of 2005. Given these initiatives and others under way within the Goodman Center for Real Estate Studies, the aim of the department is to increase the visibility of the College of Business and Economics and our programs, especially at the undergraduate level. The chosen candidate is expected to contribute significantly to this effort through research, teaching, and service.
