A team of Lehigh students developed two technologies, both prototypes that are being tested by Honduras microfinance institutions. Here you see a Pocket PC on which loan officers can digitally enter data. That information can be synchronized with SIEM databases at bank locations. The team of students also designed a Web interface for bank branches to enter loan repayment data; the burdensome and labor-intensive process–one that requires multiple emails and data-re-entry–is circumvented with the technology.
