H1N1 Flu (Swine Flu) News and Resources > FAQ
H1N1 FLU (SWINE FLU) FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Q: What is Lehigh doing about the H1N1 Flu (Swine Flu)?
A: Lehigh University administration and health officials are closely monitoring the swine influenza A (H1N1) virus infection. Several years ago, Lehigh formed a Pandemic Committee comprised of campus experts and key response departments. That group has developed the Lehigh University Pandemic Emergency Response Plan to assist the Lehigh community during a pandemic event. The committee is having regular meetings to monitor the current flu situation and to ensure that the written plans and procedures are ready to be implemented to ensure the health of our campus community.
In addition, as of July 2009, the Health and Wellness Center has been participating in the state's Influenza-Like Surveillance Network, in collaboration with the CDC.
Q: What should I do if I think I have the flu?
A: Reports show that symptoms of the H1N1 Flu (Swine Flu) are similar to those of the typical flu. Please visit "Could It Be the H1N1 (Swine) Flu?" for more information. If you experience flu-like symptoms, students should contact the Lehigh University Health and Wellness Center at 610-758-3870. Staff and faculty members should contact their family physician. communication with your instructors if assistance is needed.
