Mr. Van Hoesen joined Onpharma as its Chief Financial Officer after serving for nearly four years as Executive Vice President and CFO of Epocrates, Inc., a medical technology company and provider of mobile drug reference applications for physicians and other health care professionals. During his tenure, Epocrates increased its market penetration among US physicians from 25% to 40%, and increased annual revenues from less than $50 million to nearly $100 million.

Prior to his position with Epocrates, Rick oversaw the successful implementation of Sarbanes-Oxley compliance processes and revenue recognition practices and extensive systems improvement work as CFO of NetIQ, a $265 million revenue enterprise software company. Prior to NetIQ, Rick was CFO at privately-held XACCT Technologies, where he was responsible for building a public company financial infrastructure and raising over $50 million in private equity. Earlier in his career, he was CFO at several other publicly-traded software companies, including Micro Focus and Wall Data, and he held senior management positions at Sun Microsystems and Teradata.

Rick holds a B.S. in industrial engineering from Lehigh and an M.B.A. from Wharton. His wife, Jill, is a Lehigh alumna, as is their eldest daughter and several other members of his family, including his brother, sister, and father.
