We offer exceptionally strong programs of both undergraduate and graduate study.  Our goal is to prepare students who will have the knowledge and analytical problem-solving capabilities that will enable them to become successful practitioners, innovators and leaders in advancing the needs of a modern, complex infrastructure.

imageSeveral of our faculty and alumni have been elected to the National Academy of Engineering.  Several recent graduates are faculty members at prestigious universities- both US and internationally.  Six alumni have become university presidents.  Numberous alumni are leaders in corporations throughout the world.

Students have the opportunity to work with internationally recognized faculty across structural, environmental, water resources, and geotechnical engineering.

The department has approximately 150 undergraduate and 75 graduate students.  Our student-faculty ratio encourages productive working relationships between students and faculty.

At the graduate level, the department has research assistantships, teaching assistantships, and fellowships which are awarded on a highly competitive basis.
