Degrees offered:
M.S., M.Eng. & Ph.D. in Civil Engineering;
M.S., M. Eng. & Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering;
M.S. & Ph.D. in Structural Engineering.

Graduate students in Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) conduct experiments across an impressive range of scales, from the use of electrokinetics and nanoparticles to decontaminate groundwater to the exploration of some of the world’s largest structural tests on innovative infrastructure systems.

Graduate alumni teach in more than 60 universities worldwide, and excel in private sector and government; more than a dozen alumni and faculty have been elected to the National Academy of Engineering.

Recent PhD graduates are now faculty members at Auburn University, University of Illinois, University of Notre Dame, Ohio University, Princeton University, Purdue University, and University of Texas - Tyler.

New M. Eng. in Structural Engineering Program
A new professional masters program in structural engineering (M. Eng. in Structural Engineering) will commence in July 2008.

It is oriented to those whose primary goal is to pursue a planning and design career in a major structural engineering firm.  A full-time Professor of Practice woh has extensive industry experience needed to bring realistic design input into the program leads this ten-month 30 credit program.  A three course design sequence focuses on the design of a major structural system, such as a bridge or building.
