Research and Scholarship

Dr. Wilson conducts research in collaborative information systems and computer modeling and simulation of large complex systems. His current research projects include life-cycle engineering of complex systems and decision science applications in bioinformatics.   He has more than 30 years experience in the modeling design and design of complex infrastructure systems and has approximately ninety professional papers. He is the former Associate Director of the National Science Foundation Engineering Research Center on Advanced Technology for Large Structural Systems (ATLSS). He has also served as academic advisor to the Construction Industry Institute (CII).

Teaching

Dr. Wilson teaches courses in Numerical Methods and in Civil and Environmental Engineering, Mechanics and Behavior of Structural Members, and Finite Elements: Theory and Applications in Civil Engineering. He has also taught capstone design courses.
