CHOICES

The Rossin College of Engineering and Applied Sciences (RCEAS) has for many years hosted a one day program entitled CHOICES (Charting Horizons and Opportunities In Careers in Engineering and Science). Girls from local middle schools come to campus for one day to learn about engineering and science through hands-on projects and demonstrations.

Based on the positive experiences with CHOICES, RCEAS has made the decision to host a pilot program (week long) day camp this summer.

The Lehigh University engineering summer day camp (July 12-16, 2004) for middle school girls will introduce various engineering disciplines to attendees by way of hands-on projects and demonstrations sponsored by the engineering departments and conducted by undergraduate and graduate women studying at Lehigh.  In addition, two week-long engineering challenges will be carried out by teams of the girls (5 per group) as part of each day’s activities.

There is a registration limit of 20 girls and the deadline for registering is June 30, 2004.
