Master of Science and Master of Engineering
Mechanical Engineering and Mechanics

In meeting the requirements for the M.S. or M.E. degree, the student must satisfy the following common requirements:

  • By no later than the end of the tenth week of the first semester of enrollment, each candidate for the Master's degree must select a Master's degree option and establish a permanent advisor, and submit the form "Program for Master's Degree."
  • The Master's degree is not granted unless the candidate has earned a grade point average of 3.0 or greater for the 30-credit program that satisfies the above requirements.  No course in which the grade earned is C- or less, and no 300-level Mechanical Engineering and Mechanics course in which the grade earned is B- or less, can be credited toward the degree. A student who receives more than two grades of B- or lower is not allowed to continue the Master's program without petitioning for reinstatement.
