Research activities, consulting, patents, etc.:
Applied probability and statistical modeling of failure processes in materials, aluminum alloys, steels, and composites; mechanistically based probability modeling of damage evolution; mechanical and system reliability. Recent research has focused on pitting corrosion and corrosion fatigue crack growth in aging aircraft components and systems and on microelectronic reliability and interfacial damage nucleation and growth.
