Three IPD student teams are invited to Florida conference

Three student teams from the Integrated Product Development Program have been invited to the Unigraphics Users Group and ICCON joint national conference in Florida at the end of April to present their work in computer-aided design as it applies to product development. The students are all seniors majoring in mechanical engineering.

Christian Corrigan will give a presentation on “Education Through Integrated Product Development.” Corrigan was a member of a team that designed “Seek,” a small device that sounds a locating beep to let users know where they’ve put TV remote controls, keys and sunglasses. The team exhibited “Seek” at the “March Madness of the Mind,” an annual event sponsored by the National Collegiate Inventors and Innovators Alliance in Washington, D.C.

Jordan Volk and Matthew Buttacavoli will discuss their work for the Milton Roy Co., which designs and builds metering pumps for injecting chemicals, in a presentation titled “Reciprocating Power Pump Drive.” Hannah Riger and Jesse Cottrell will discuss a nozzle design that their team designed for General Motors.

The conference, which is titled “The World's Largest Product Lifecycle Solutions Event,” will be held at Disney’s Coronado Springs.
