Ten professors cited by provost at faculty book reception

Provost Yoshida cites 10 RCEAS professors at book event

Ten members of the RCEAS faculty were singled out for praise at a university reception for faculty book authors and editors on Thursday,
Feb. 14, in the Alumni Memorial Building. They are:

Forbes Brown, professor of mechanical engineering and mechanics, for “Engineering Systems Dynamics: A Unified Graph-Centered Approach”
(Dekker, 2001)

Mohamed El-Aasser, RCEAS dean and professor of chemical engineering, for “Emulsion Polymers” (Wiley, 2000)

Mike Groover, professor of industrial and systems engineering, for “Automation, Production Systems, and Computer Integrated Manufacturing”
(Prentice Hall, 2001) and also for “Fundamentals of Modern Manufacturing: Materials, Processes, and Systems” (Wiley & Sons, 2002)

Christine Hofmeister, assistant professor of computer science and engineering, with Robert Nord and Dilip Soni, for “Applied Software
Architecture” (Longman, 2000)

Ray Pearson, associate professor of materials science and engineering and director of the Center for Polymer Science and Engineering, for
“Toughening of Plastics, Advances in Modeling and Experiments” (American Chemical Society, 2000)

William Schiesser, McCann Professor of engineering and mathematics, with A. Vande Wouwer and Ph. Saucez, for “Adaptive Method of Lines” (Chapman & Hall, 2001)
