Gardiner gives global gathering a glimpse at future of manufacturing education

Keith Gardiner, professor of industrial and systems engineering and
director of the Center for Manufacturing Systems Engineering, gave a
presentation on “Education for Future Manufacturing” at the recent
International Manufacturing Education Conference at the University of
Twente in The Netherlands. The conference was sponsored by College
International pour l'Etude Scientifique des Techniques de Production
Mecanique, an international organization also known as the International
Institution for Production Engineering Research.

The conference was followed by a kick-off meeting for a new
international collaborative effort to develop a curriculum framework for
Global Education for Manufacturing in which Lehigh is serving as the
U.S. coordinators of the Intelligent Manufacturing Systems initiative.
Other U.S. collaborators include Arizona State and George Mason
universities and 17 U.S. companies.
