Thursday, Dec. 19, 1 p.m. Imbt Labs Auditorium B101, Mountaintop Campus. ATLSS -- the Engineering Research Center for Advanced Technology for Large Structural Systems -- presents a seminar by Jim Ricles, professor of civil and environmental engineering, on a grant Lehigh recently received from the National Science Foundation to establish a next-generation earthquake research facility at ATLSS. Prof. Ricles, the principal investigator in the NEES Lehigh Equipment Grant, will talk specifically on the "ATLSS Real-Time Multi-Directional Testing Facility for Large-Scale Earthquake Engineering Research." His presentation will be followed by the ATLSS Holiday Reception at 2 p.m. in the ATLSS Conference Room.
