Israel Wachs lectures in France and Germany
Israel E. Wachs, professor of chemical engineering, gave a plenary lecture earlier this month at the First International Operando Spectroscopy meeting in Lunteren, The Netherlands (March 2-6). Operando Spectrscopy refers to spectroscopic studies of working catalysts under reaction conditions with simultaneous online activity and selectivity measurements. Wachs’ lecture was titled “In situ Raman Spectroscopy of Catalysts: Past, Present and Future.”
Wachs was also invited to give seminars on “Molecular Engineering of Metal Oxide Catalysts”at the University of Pierre and Marie Curie in Paris on March 10 and the Institut fur Angewandte Chemie in Berlin on March 12. On March 11, he gave a presentation titled “Molecular Structure and Reactivity of Ta-Oxide Based Catalysts” at Starck Chemical Co. in Goslar, Germany.
