The P.C. Rossin College of Engineering and Applied Science supports and promotes the cross-pollination of ideas, resources, and facilities across disciplines to help integrate research and academic missions, identify new areas of exploration, and coordinate resources for maximum scholarly and industrial impact. As technologies converge and new applications and approaches are developed at a lightning pace, research organizations must be broad enough to integrate a wide range of ideas, methods, and thinking, but focused enough to identify especially promising directions and investment.

Toward that goal, sustained Lehigh research teams in the following three areas pool their expertise to find solutions to problems that increasingly traverse disciplinary boundaries:

  • BIO: Bio, Environmental and Molecular Engineering
  • NANO: Nanotechnology and Applications; Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology; Optics, Microelctronics, and Nanoelectronics
  • SYSTEMS: Integrative Engineering and Information Systems; Infrastructure and Energy Systems; Information, Computing and Communications Systems
