William J. Ash 1937
William J. Ash graduated from Lehigh in 1937 with a bachelor’s degree in engineering. While a student, he was a member of the basketball, baseball, and track teams, as well as the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity and Pi Tau Sigma honors society. During his career, he served as president of the Conn.-based New England Lime Company, retiring in 1969, and lived in Salisbury, Conn. upon his death.
Ash was a generous benefactor of Lehigh, and was a member of the Asa Packer Society and Tower Society. Upon his passing in June 2008, Lehigh received an estate gift that established the William J. Ash ’37 Endowment Fund for unrestricted purposes.
