Elizabeth and George P. Maginness 1940
George P. Maginness earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Lehigh University in 1940. While a student, he was an active athlete, and a member of the baseball, basketball, and lacrosse teams. Maginness had a long and successful career in the pharmaceutical industry, and is retired as executive vice president from Bristol-Myers Squibb.
Maginness and his wife, Elizabeth, have two sons, and split their time between Bonita Springs, Florida, and New Jersey. They are active members of Lehigh’s Asa Packer Society, and support several campus priorities including the Athletics Partnership. The Maginnesses have established the George P. and Elizabeth Maginness Charitable Remainder Fund through Lehigh, for unrestricted endowment purposes. The Maginnesses made their gift to allow maximum flexibility for Lehigh.
