"Our role has changed from being consumers of campus resources, to being providers of resources for future students."
- Class of 1982 Reunion
Ronald R. Hoffman Scholarship
Looking for Devin Tyman '09? When he’s not hitting the books or in class pursuing his degree in mechanical engineering, you might find him welding in the metal shop, rallying his classmates from the community service office, or even tearing around the trails of South Mountain on a sleek mountain bike he built himself.
The Holliston, Mass. native and Class of 2009 treasurer is making his mark at Lehigh and beyond. In addition to his campus activities, Devin is community-minded, and as a dedicated volunteer recently spent his spring break on a service trip to Kentucky’s Lend-A-Hand Farm Center.
Yet Devin would not have been on a path to Lehigh without the Ronald R. Hoffman Scholarship. "I was looking for a great engineering school, and Lehigh had an amazing campus, along with the right programs," Devin says. "But the biggest part of my decision was the availability of financial aid. I couldn’t afford to be here otherwise."
