Russell Reynolds Associates was founded in New York in 1969. In 36 years, the firm has grown to become one of the two or three largest recruiting firms, both domestically and internationally. The firm’s staff numbers almost 500, including over 150 recruiting professionals. Its domestic office locations include New York, Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C. and other cities, and the firm’s international presence includes offices in London, Paris, Madrid, Mexico City, Brussels, Frankfurt, Milan, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Toronto, and Sydney, as well as other locations.


Dr. Ilene H. Nagel
Dr. Ilene H. Nagel is the Russel Reynolds representative who will be working closely with Lehigh's Search Committee. She has more than 30 years experience as an academic, with professorial appointments in a number of prestigious Ivy League, private and public AAU research institutions. Most recently and most relevant, from 1998-2002, Dr. Nagel served as the Executive Vice Chancellor (chief academic officer) at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Before joining the University of California, Dr. Nagel was the Dean of the Graduate School and the Associate Provost for Research at the University of Maryland, College Park. Previously, she was at Indiana University, Bloomington, where she was a tenured Full Professor of Law. During her tenure at Indiana, she took several leaves of absence to accept a variety of visiting appointments at Yale Law School, Cambridge University, Columbia University School of Law, and George Washington University’s National Law Center.

Dr. Nagel has served multiple terms on the Board of the Santa Barbara Museum of Art and presently serves on the Board of Visiting Nurse and Hospice Care of Santa Barbara. She is an honorary member of the Board of the Santa Barbara International Film Festival and a prior member of the Alfred University Board of Trustees. In addition, she serves as a corporate board member of USA Funds, Inc and Trailblazer Health Enterprises, LLC.

Dr. Nagel received her B.A. magna cum laude from Hunter College, and her M.A. and Ph.D. from New York University. She did a post doctoral fellowship at the University of Minnesota, and received her Masters of Legal Studies from Stanford University School of Law.
