A History of Innovation

"Lehigh has a long history of excellence in research and scholarly activities. In addition, a wide range of changes are taking place that further strengthen the intellectual climate on campus. In the Office of the Vice Provost for Research, I am working to support new scholarly work and to foster new collaborations. Innovative research initiatives and new programs are being developed within the university, and also between the university and the external community and our industrial partners. It is exciting to see that the outstanding research carried out by our faculty, students, and professional research staff has increasing visibility and is enhancing this aspect of our reputation."
-Bruce Koel, Interim Vice Provost for Research

Education researchers are now better able to analyze ADHD-related symptoms among preschool-aged children, according to Lee Kern,
Iacocca professor of
special education, who, along with College of Education colleague George DuPaul, recently completed a five-year study of the disorder in preschool and home environments. Thanks to their research, parents may now have a non-medicinal alternative for treating Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.
