Undergraduate Opportunities in Education
Computer Based Training Design Computer-based Training Design combines students and faculty in education and engineering interested in designing, developing, implementing and assessing computer-based training (CBT). Throughout two semesters, multidisciplinary teams of students develop—in conjunction with industry partners—CBT lessons, modules or units of instruction on scientific and technical concepts to be delivered via the partner's computer network environment. The projects address instructional needs the companies have identified, and the instructional modules developed by the students. During the first semester students produce a storyboard sketch of their proposed solution that incorporates tools and techniques introduced throughout the term, along with an implementation plan. After company feedback, students in the second semester develop, test and refine their CBT prototype and assessment tools, for final implementation by the company. 12-20 students participate annually. |
