With regard to the building shell and core, the structural steel for B and C wings is 100 percent complete, and the concrete decks for the first three floor levels are in place. The steel framing for the two fire stairs - one each in B and C Wings - has been installed, and the pans are being filled with concrete. The spray-on fireproofing for the structural steel is about 70 percent complete in the B and C wings. The exterior framing and sheathing for the B and C wings has begun, as has the concrete masonry unit (CMU) installation in the ground floor. The concrete slab-on-grade for the A wing is now in place.
The metal stud framing for the first-floor level in the B and C wings is about 75 percent complete. Duct, plumbing, and piping rough-ins are well advanced at this level. Framing for the second level is about 25 percent complete. The pedestrian bridge framing steel between the second floor of the C Wing and Maginnes Hall is complete.
Looking ahead, the concrete decks for levels four and five should in place by mid-June. The exterior brickwork will begin by the end of June. Roofing is scheduled to begin in early-to-mid July, depending upon more a more stable weather pattern.
Permanent power will be brought to the building at the end of July.
The STEPS facility, situated at the corner of Packer Avenue and Vine Street, will be comprised of a South Wing, Central Wing and North Wing, which adjoins Maginnes Hall.
