Lehigh University’s spacious and bucolic campus, encompassing 1,600 acres up and over South Mountain, offers a living and learning environment unlike any other. Life at Lehigh is active and engaging, and students are encouraged to expand their minds and enrich their souls by embracing all that we have to offer.
From leadership development, to the arts, to community service, Lehigh offers a full palette of activities. We boast more than 160 student clubs and special-interest organizations, 30 fraternities and sororities, a nationally-ranked NCAA Division I athletics program with 25 varsity and 40+ club and intramural sports, and a variety of religious organizations.
The Bethlehem community in which Lehigh resides is an ethnically diverse area of 78,000, which is part of the larger Lehigh Valley. Many students pursue community service opportunities, such as tutoring middle school students or partnering with neighborhood organizations like the South Bethlehem Neighborhood Center and the Boys and Girls Club. Lehigh’s close proximity to major East Coast cities, such as New York City and Philadelphia, makes it a prime location for living, or a perfect launch pad for visiting friends nearby.
Lehigh also embraces global and cultural awareness and welcomes students from more than 65 countries each year. A variety of on-campus programming enables students to educate themselves on the world’s most relevant political, economic and social issues.
Students interested in the arts will enjoy Lehigh's Zoellner Arts Center, a venue attracting top notch artists and performers like the New York Philharmonic and violinist Isaac Stern. The center also showcases Lehigh students who participate in plays, concerts, art exhibits and a wide variety of musical ensembles and theatre groups.
