"With drive, determination, and motivation, all things are possible."
- Melodie Kent
mechanical engineering and biology graduate student
Lehigh is noted for its strong Greek system. In fact, fraternities have been on campus for more than 100 years. The University's 19 fraternities and 8 sororities allow most students interested in Greek life to find a house that reflects their individual needs and interests.
Nearly all of Lehigh's fraternities and sororities have their own houses; most of the fraternities and seven of the sororities are located on the "Hill" along Upper and Lower Sayre Park Roads. The remaining sorority is located in the Centennial I complex across Rathbone Hall.
The Lehigh fraternity and sosority system offers students numerous opportunities to gain leadership experience, as well as the chance to develop lasting long-term friendships with the other members of their houses. These living groups also play an important role in life on and off campus, as fraternities and sororities do much to help the surrounding community.

View web site
Nickname: Beta
Beta Theta Pi is not a frat; it is a fraternity. Founded at Lehigh in 1891, the brotherhood has been able to remain strong throughout its life at Lehigh, while contributing to both its community and campus. Our brothers do many philanthropy events during the year, including Boys and Girls Club and a Bethlehem trash pick-up once a week. We have many brothers on the Lehigh University Rugby team, which competes on the Division II level. The brotherhood is also actively involved in intramural sports and has won the President's Cup twice in the past ten years. The actives can always count on strong alumni involvement, as Brothers at Beta are brothers for life. Our alumni turnout during Young Alumni Weekend, the Fraternal Fifties celebration, and Lehigh/Lafayette confirms the lifelong dedication to the fraternity. The new brothers of Beta are off to another excellent year and look forward to continuing the Beta tradition at Lehigh.
Chi Phi
The Psi Chapter of the Chi Phi Fraternity at Lehigh offers a well rounded college experience. The down to earth personalities of every brother contribute to the realism of an ideal work/life balance. We attain high GPAs while having an involved social life. Members of the house are also very involved with other organizations and sports on campus.
Chi Psi

The brotherhood of Chi Psi, affectionately known by common hill-goers as "the lodge" can be thought of as a house that is rich in tradition and full of a competitive spirit that many deem to be the hub of collegiate life. The brotherhood itself is a diverse crowd which boasts athletes, scholars, and collective leaders alike. To live amongst Chi Psi is to develop along side those with high expectations and gentlemanly qualities. The end result is an abundance of good times and friendships that last a lifetime.
Delta Phi
Nickname: D Phi
The Nu Chapter of Delta Phi, the oldest continuous national social fraternity in the country, has been a staple of the Lehigh Greek Community for over 120 years. The brothers of Delta Phi represent a diverse and unique mix of current (and former) varsity and club athletes, student leaders, and academic aficionados, who strive for excellence in every way on campus, as active participants in nearly every aspect of life at Lehigh. Every year, members of our house battle the other fraternities in Intramural Sports in a highly competitive atmosphere, where we perennially finish in the top tier of houses. We are also a very strong component of the Hill's social scene, where our dance parties, especially our Mardi Gras party during Greek Week, are second to none on campus. Although we hold both our academics and extracurricular activities in the highest regard, the most important aspects of Delta Phi are the strong fraternal bonds and values that we share, providing us the tightest and most close-knit brotherhood Lehigh has to offer.
Delta Tau Delta
Nickname: Delts
Established in 1865, the members of Delta Tau Delta have always been proud of the Fraternity to which they belong to. With a great house, the best chef on 'The Hill', and a reputation that is prominent all around campus, Delta Tau Delta is the ideal place to call home. As 'Delts', we are a group of well-rounded individuals who take pride in everything we do. Just last year we took the President's Cup for intramural sports on campus, volunteered at the Boys' and Girls' club, broke top GPA, and threw great social events. Above all, we pride ourselves on our strong code of values and brotherhood. Our fraternity creates a bond that leads to life long friends and a group of brothers who you can call family. Besides our great social agenda and philanthropy, we have brotherhood retreats, formals, and a strong Lehigh history. Being in a Fraternity is a great life experience that prepares you more then anything for the road ahead. The Beta Lambda chapter of Delts is no exception. A commitment to Delta Tau Delta will place you in another environment, one where you will play a different and more responsible role in living your life according to values. Delta Tau Delta is a value-driven, international private membership organization. Our system will help you address specific aspects of your life; from academics to social behavior. Delta Tau Delta ideals are guiding principles, a lens through which to view the world. Since its beginning Delta Tau Delta has embraced truth, courage, faith, and power as its fundamental principles. When you leave Lehigh, don't just leave with a degree; leave with brothers, memories, and an experience that will last a lifetime.
Delta Upsilon
Nickname: D.U.
The Lehigh Chapter of Delta Upsilon consists of brotherhood that is diverse in a multitude of areas, such as race, creed and personality. It is this culmination of diversity that makes Delta Upsilon such a strong chapter. Delta Upsilon is unique in the fact that it is a non-secret fraternity. We proudly share our beliefs with all those who want to hear them, and our rituals and ceremonies are open to all those who wish to attend. To be a brother in Delta Upsilon is to be part of a truly special and elite organization whose goal it is to build better men, and by becoming a member, that is exactly what you will become.
Kappa Alpha
Nickname: K.A
Academics are what brings us to college, but what we take away from these years are the friendships and experience we gain while here. The Kappa Alpha Society provides a way to get the most out of our time here at Lehigh. As the oldest Social Greek Letter Fraternity, KA has been an active member of the Lehigh community since 1894. The brothers of the Kappa Alpha Society strive for the best in academics, and are also active in many university clubs, club and intramural sports, and university committees. Kappa Sigma
Nickname: Kappa Sig
Kappa Sigma has been a part of Lehigh's Greek community for over a century dating back to its colonization in 1900. The Brothers of the Beta-Iota Chapter have created strong ties with its alumni that span across generation gaps opening doors and creating lasting friendships and workforce allies. Highly competitive in intramural sports, Kappa Sigma also has brothers on the hockey, crew, and rugby teams. Due to our strong emphasis on academics, we were able to surpass the all-Lehigh-men and all-Greek-men GPA averages for the past semester. The Brothers are also active in the community and participate in service events, most notably the Big Brother program at a local elementary school. What really sets us apart from the rest is the diversity of our brotherhood. Everyone is from different places and has different values, but we can all call each other our best friends.
Lambda Chi Alpha
Nickname: Lambda Chi
Among all the residential environments at Lehigh, the only one that seems to offer everything you could ask for is Greek Life. Living in a fraternity house, you live with 30 of your best friends. You develop lifelong friendships that never seem to die out. One of the characteristics that separates Lambda Chi Alpha from some of the other fraternities is that we have no “stereotype-member”. What this means is while some houses are known for academics, or outrageous parties, or great sports, we seem to encompass all of these things. Everyone in the house is different, yet there is that one thing we all have that makes us Lambda Chi’s. Another thing that separates us from other houses is that we don’t have pledges. We have Associate Members - what that means is that you (as an A.M) have a vote, a voice, and basically have every right brothers have. Remember you will be living with these guys for 3 or 4 years.

Sigma Chi is different than every other house on the Hill, because it's one of the only houses, if not the only, that isn't classified by a sole reputation. We're a mix of different people, from different places, all here for the same reasons: to have fun, enjoy ourselves, and make a difference at the same time. Whether a varsity wrestler, or a chemical engineer, everyone is different, but we all get along. When we do philanthropy events, we choose areas that interest us; we do philanthropy because we want to make a difference. We get along well with everybody, there's no sworn enemy of Sigma Chi. We're just a group of different, laid back people that really work well together.

Recently, our alumni corporation worked with Residential Services to complete renovations of our house library and chapter room, which has offered our brotherhood increased room to study and lounge.
