"I strongly recommend students, especially international students, to get involved in social activities."

Live Lehigh!: Lehigh University, The Office of Residence Life, and The Office of Residential Services recognize the significance of community living as an opportunity for students to experience personal growth and development. Development is on-going throughout all four years and the Upper Class college student experience is often "lost" within the campus community. These students are sometimes overwhelmed by the thought of making important and potentially long-lasting decisions about majors, careers, and relationships. Upper Class students frequently cope with the ambiguity of their status by seeking opportunities for a greater connection to their institutions.
The Live Lehigh! program provides students in their second, third, and fourth year the option to live and learn within self-initiated themed residential communities to enhance their overall Lehigh experience! These communities are programmatically designed and operated by the Lehigh student.
The Office of Residence Life values the Upper Class experience and believes that this is a time for students to thoughtfully reflect on the past, actively engage in the present and intentionally plan for the future. Take control of your experience and Live Lehigh!
As a result of participating in the Live Lehigh! Program, students will be able to:
Currently, there are six LiveLehigh! groups:
CHOICE
The CHOICE Community allows their members a chance to live in an environment without alcohol or drugs and the pressures and problems with which they are associated. The community is comprised of a diverse group of individuals who support each other's lifestyle choices, who believe that upholding their principles is easier in the presence of others with similar ideals and the absence of negative peer pressure. The community fosters an atmosphere where there is no pressure to fit in, as members are accepted as they are through a common lifestyle commitment. CHOICE will be housed in Brodhead.
GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP
The Global Citizenship Community seeks to build a bridge between a student's classroom experience and their applied development as world citizens. Consistent with the program's emphasis on individual agency in the world, the Global Citizenship community is a self-governing group of students dedicated to exploring how to develop a personal stance as responsible citizens of the Lehigh Valley and the world. Information regarding the Global Citizenship Program can be found at http://www.lehigh.edu/~ingc. Global Citizenship Community will be housed in Warren Square B
GREEN HOUSE
The Green House is an environmentally conscious community of students from all academic disciplines linked by the common pursuit of sustainability. Focuses are on reducing material waste and energy expenditure through an introspective analysis of personal and social habits. The Green House's resources are tailored to facilitate the changes that come of such introspection, including a clothesline, a greenhouse, compost bins, bicycle tools, and a library of environmentally salient information. The Green House will be housed in Warren Square A.
HEALTHY LIVING
The Healthy Living Community focuses on their member's individual health as well as providing a friendly living space that both supports and encourages a healthy lifestyle and healthy choices. It furthermore aims to reach out to the Lehigh community in a similar fashion by providing information and the same support to the greater Lehigh population. Healthy Living will be housed in Taylor.
LUTIS (Lehigh University Technology in Society)
The Technology in Society Community strives to develop a framework of interaction between the ever-changing technological landscape and the Lehigh. The Community promotes an ongoing discussion regarding the ethics and development of technology within society. The members of the Technology Community share a common interest in the significance and practice of computing, digital media, and the ethics of progress. The Technology in Society Community will be located in the Hillside House, adjacent to Sayre Park.
MUSICAL ENRICHMENT
The Musical Enrichment Community focuses on enriching the love and importance of music at Lehigh University. Their aim is to extend their passion for the performing arts (primarily choral and instrumental) to all those willing to embrace it, both inside and outside of the classroom. Through the various musical ensembles that house members are connected to, they work year-round towards the goal of immersing the surrounding community in a more meaningful, musical lifestyle and promoting the many outstanding events that occur at Zoellner Arts Center. Musical Enrichment members are housed in Warren Square D.
